Will there be hot water heaters for the children to shower?

Some of the toilets will have hot water heaters.

How will the accommodation be arranged for the camp?

Accepted Answer

Boy and girls will be accommodated in separate dormitories. Each dormitory will have 10-14 beds. 
2-4 helpers/volunteers for each dormitory will be taking care of them during bedtime.

Will there be air-conditioning in the dorm and hall?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we would advise children who are afraid of cold to bring a jacket.

Can parents visit their children anytime during the camp?

Accepted Answer

To ensure the safety and security of all children as well as to allow the camp to run smoothly, we sincerely apologize that we will not permit parents to visit their children. In the case of any special circumstances or needs, please do make prior arrangement with us.

Question 5

In case parents are unable to attend the closing ceremony, will the children be sent back to the gathering point of the first day?"

Accepted Answer

This can be arranged, please inform early. However, we do hope that all parents will be able to attend the closing ceremony in support of their children.

Question 6

Can parents send their children directly to the camp site on the first day?

Accepted Answer

No, children need to gather at the appointed location (PJ Charis Church) to register first. We will be renting a bus/buses to send the children to the camp site. In the case of any special circumstances or needs, please do make prior arrangement with us.

Question 7

In the case where the children cannot fully attend the camp such as, arriving late/leaving in the middle, how can it be arranged?"

Accepted Answer

For such cases, a valid and reasonable reason needs to be provided, please inform as early as possible and do note that full fees will still be collected.

If a family has more than 2 children joining the camp, will there be discount provided?"

Accepted Answer

We do apologize that we are unable to provide a discount.

Question 9

My children are English Educated and do not understand Mandarin very well, can they still attend the camp?"

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please inform us on their level of understanding Mandarin and put in your request early for us to arrange special help for these children. The camp will be conducted in Mandarin and we will arrange to provide helpers/volunteers to keep a watch on them and help translate instruction when necessary to the children during the camp.

Can the camp cater for vegetarian diet?

This can be arranged, please give us early and prior request before the start of the camp.

Question 11

This year camp site has a swimming pool, will there be any activities in the water? Is it a must for the children to join? Will there be any danger?"

Accepted Answer

We will only have a water activity in the swimming pool on the 3rd day of camp. We will make all necessary arrangement to safeguard them. We will employ lifeguards and have sufficient volunteers to look into the safety of the children and will be strictly monitoring all activities of the children during that time. The children will not be allowed into the swimming pool at other times.

How many campers will join this year? How many volunteers will there be?

Our target is to have at least 80 children for the camp this year and there will be approximately 40 helpers available.

Question 13

Are there things that the children have to specially bring for the camp?

Accepted Answer

We will inform the parents with a list of items to bring for the camp as well as a list of items prohibited for the camp 3 weeks prior to the start of the camp.

Will the camp schedule be known prior to the camp?

Accepted Answer

We will announce the schedule of the camp 3 weeks prior to the start of the camp, however do note that it may still be subjected to changes.

Question 15

Will the camp provide 3 meals each day?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will be providing 3 meals each day except for breakfast and lunch on the first day and dinner on the last day. If the children are hungry in between meals during the camp, we will provide them with biscuits.

Question 16

In cases when the children fall sick or get hurt during the camp, how will this be handled?"

Accepted Answer

We will have first aid volunteers on standby, we will also inform parents of the children's condition. We will consult the parents before giving any oral medication.
